Privacy policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Dan Richert operates drichert.com, a personal website with browser-based projects, including Webdrum. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit the site or contact me.

Website analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages and projects people use and to improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies, including cookies with names beginning with _ga, and similar identifiers to measure visits and sessions.

Information sent to Google can include pages visited, referring websites, interactions, browser and device information, and approximate location. Your browser also sends an IP address when connecting to Google; Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. Analytics is separate from the project state stored in your browser.

For details, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services, Google’s privacy policy, and Google Analytics cookie information.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. It processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and request times, to deliver content, maintain reliability, and protect against abuse. Depending on the security features in use, Cloudflare may also set cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s cookie information.

Webdrum and browser storage

Webdrum saves patterns, layers, and settings in your browser’s local storage so they can be restored on a later visit. Its audio generation and WAV export run in your browser. The app does not upload your saved patterns or generated audio to this site.

You can remove saved Webdrum data by clearing site storage in your browser. This also removes your saved work. Browser storage is separate from Google Analytics cookies; clearing it does not prevent future analytics collection.

Email contact

If you email contact@drichert.com, I receive your email address and any information you include. I use that information to respond and manage our correspondence. Email is handled by email service providers. A mail link opens your email app; clicking it does not submit a contact form on this site.

Use, sharing, and retention

Information is used to run, secure, and improve the site and respond to messages. Google, Cloudflare, and email providers process information as described above. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect the site and its users. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries under their own policies and safeguards.

Email correspondence is kept as needed to respond, maintain relevant records, and meet legal obligations. Analytics and hosting data are retained according to the applicable service settings and provider policies. Webdrum’s local data remains in your browser until it is cleared by you or your browser.

Your choices and requests

You can manage and delete cookies using your browser settings. Blocking cookies alone may not prevent all analytics requests. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to or restrict its processing. For privacy questions or requests about information I hold, email contact@drichert.com. Please do not include sensitive information in your initial message.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as the site and its services change. The date above indicates the latest update.
